About this session

Most caregivers never ask for the leave and flexibility they are entitled to, partly because they do not know what exists and partly because asking feels risky. This session sets out, plainly, what the law and the employer’s own policies give caregivers where they work, and shows how to ask for flexibility in a way that gets a yes.

The expert covers the rules where the client’s people are: in the US, family and medical leave, state paid family leave and protections against discrimination; in the UK, carer’s leave, the right to request flexible working and time off for dependents; and the equivalents in other countries, plus the client’s own policies. It is education, not legal advice: the expert points people to HR and to free advice services for their own case.
